Jasna Brkić
Jasna Brkić, born in 1975, is a senior librarian for children and youth at the Children’s Department of the Belgrade City Library. She designs and organizes programs, projects, and creative and educational workshops with the aim of encouraging reading among children and young people. She is the author of several papers published in professional journals, as well as lectures and accredited seminars for preschool teachers, elementary school teachers, and librarians in public and school libraries on the topic of possibilities and forms of working with children in cultural and educational institutions (“Tools in Hands – Animation and Creation of Stories with the Help of ICT Masters”, “Old Stories in a New Light”, “Do Not Underestimate Presentations”, “Newspaper Literacy and Critical Thinking”). She has participated and presented at numerous professional conferences in the country and abroad and at the International Satellite Conference of the IFLA Section for Children and Youth Services in 2019. She is part of the fifth cycle of the “Creative Mentoring” program, an association that promotes mentoring, empowers the cultural sector, and provides support to professionals interested in improving, networking, and exchanging knowledge.
