Bradford Egelston
Brad Egelston has been teaching in some capacity since 1997. He began as an undergraduate student teaching local educational enrichment programs held during summers. In 2000, he graduated from Miami University with a degree in Education with a mathematics concentration. In 2003, he earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marygrove College. Throughout the next 15 years, he served Ohio public schools as an instructor, curriculum designer and was a co-founder of Northridge Local Schools’ District Data Analysis Team. After a brief shift away from education and working in corporate data maintenance and data analytics, he returned to Miami University in 2018 as a Math Specialist. In this role, he is responsible for getting students prepared for college-level math, providing and coordinating tutoring and support for mathematics students and as you’ll learn in his presentation, providing math placement assessments.
In his presentation “Creating Quality In-House Math Placement Tests”, he’ll explain how accessible digital technology was harnessed to provide uninterrupted placement opportunities for college-bound students during Covid-realted campus closures.
