Marianne Undheim
Marianne is an Associate professor in pedagogy and digital technology at the Department of Early Childhood Education at University of Stavanger, Norway. In her PhD-research, she focused on children’s and teachers’ collaborative and creative use of digital technology in early childhood education and care institutions (ECEC). Before she started her PhD, she worked for more than 20 years as an early childhood teacher in ECEC.
In this presentation Marianne will present and discuss findings from a study exploring two teachers’ pedagogical strategies when creating digital stories together with groups of children (age 4–5) in early childhood education and care (ECEC) institutions. The findings show that during the creation process, the teachers use several pedagogical strategies, e.g., inviting to dialogue, explaining the practical, and instructing for results. The study highlights the pedagogical perspectives when using digital technology together with young children in ECEC.
